SOLARIO RACING’S Tamayuz 2yo went to the gallops for the first time this morning with Sophie Ralston on board and apart from a buck or two, all went well and the youngster really seemed to enjoy himself.
The chestnut son of dual Group One winner, Tamayuz was backed and ridden away earlier in the year but there’s been a short delay in getting him to the gallops as he was gelded in February.
Judging by how he went about his business today, the wait was worth it! He limbered up as usual in the outdoor canter ring and then went for his first canter with another gallops newcomer, Thomas Equinas, a half-brother to the stable’s seven times-winner, Fighting Temeraire and 3yo Hot Chesnut.
Solario Racing’s Dancinginthewoods led the two juveniles and they went a steady canter. There were one or two bucks by the Tamayuz but he really looked to be enjoying himself and was keen without being too free.
This was a good first experience and Sophie was pleased with how he went. On breeding, there’s plenty of speed in the pedigree with the dam, Pin Cushion winning over 6f while the three winning siblings have won from 5f to a mile. Physically, the horse has plenty of size and scope and it will be intriguing to see what is his eventual distance.
Now Covid restrictions have eased, the yard would be delighted to see Owners and prospective Owners. If you are thinking of dipping your toe into ownership, you might want to see this exciting prospect, which is being syndicated in 1/12th shares, going through his paces for yourself.
